Drunchies:

4 AM Cravings

When people think of Miami, they think of the beach, pool parties, night clubs and fun times under the sun. But in reality, what makes Miami special is the number of restaurants open after 3 am. If New York is the city that never sleeps, Miami is most definitely the city that never stops eating.

There is no better feeling than looking over at your friends after one too many tequila shots and mouthing “croquetas?” right before rushing to order the uber.

In Miami, we love to eat, but we especially love to DRUNK eat. Nothing says “I’ve been intermittent fasting all week” like a drunk girl stuffing Los Verdes in her face while simultaneously begging her friends to not tell anyone on Instagram because it “would be OVER for fitness and lifestyle page.”

Miami gives us so many options to wisely choose what we will indulge in that night (or some would say, early morning) and I’m here to tell you where to go when it’s 4 am and you swear you need to either eat or you will die.

LOS VERDES

Los Verdes is honestly Colombian’s best gift to Miami. There is something about having everything you order be topped with crushed chips and an array of delicious sauces that will have your mouth watering before you step in the uber and head there. You will never know what or who you might find stumbling into Los Verdes drunk at 4 am, but what I CAN promise you is that you will not be the only one in your same predicament.

PINECREST BAKERY

Whenever you’re craving a 4 am pick me up, look no further than your local pinecrest bakery. Home of the croquetas, pastelitos, tostadas, and cafe con leches. Pinecrest bakeries are EVERYWHERE, and have multiplied in Miami to a point of no return. Wherever you may be, rest assured there is a pinecrest nearby. The best part? They’re open 24 hours, for whenever you need a Cuban protein bar (also known as a croqueta). Nothing hits the spot after a night of perreo like some Cuban goodies.

REYS PIZZA

Pizza, Pepsi, y Puteria. All things you will find at Rey’s Pizza at 4 in the morning (okay honestly all 24 hours of the day). This is a cheap, resourceful, and good environment to calm down after a night out– probably when you’re still a little tipsy. At Rey’s Pizza, they serve your personal pizza with utensils and nothing makes you feel like a badder bitch than eating pizza with a fork and knife. It’s these little things that matter to you at this time while you let those garlic rolls absorb the alcohol.

SUSHI SAKE

Happiness comes in the form of a Miami Heat Roll and a chicken fried rice. Sushi Sake, another drunchies Miami staple, is open Fridays and Saturdays until 5 am. This gives anyone more than enough time to get lit, dance the night away, and still stuff wontons in their face. The best part about Asian food is the unreal speed at which you can inhale 4-5 plates and have it catch up to you only when it’s too late. Sushi Sake is where to go when your whole group is hungry and you’re too tipsy to realize how much money you’re spending.

Miami is the place to be if you love the nightlife and you love to eat. Many few places in the world are as privileged as we are. So go out, have fun, drink, dance, and order that uber to your favorite food location– life is really too short to go to sleep hungry.

Enjoy it, gorl. YOU DESERVE IT.
